It all depends on the size of the deck, layout, materials selected, and the stairs and railings you choose. Yes, you can repair and refinish your deck if it needs new staining or refinishing. Usually this process involves replacing any damaged areas, sanding and power washing, and removing existing sealant or stain. We can then restain or reseal your deck. A deck can be refinished and does not always need to be replaced. We do offer services for this.
A deck can be a good way to add value to your home or add interest to potential buyers, especially if you already have a deck that needs replaced and looks tired. If you plan on selling and simply need to have your deck refinished or repaired, then we do that as well. If you plan on building a new deck before selling then consider using pressure treated lumber to keep costs down while still creating sales appeal.
There are a range of materials that you can use to build your deck that will offer different price points for keeping your project within budget. Using pressure treated lumber is a lower cost material that you can use to construct your deck while composite is long lasting but can be much more expensive. Once we determine the size of your deck and create drawings, we can quote both materials and you can decide based on your budget and how the materials differ in aftercare which one may be right for you.
If you are building a new deck then depending on the size and number of footings it can take anywhere from 4 to 7 days on average. Keep in mind that the size of the deck, number of levels, and number of stairs and types of railings can all add time to your project depending on how elaborate your plans are.
